Geraldine Brown

Geraldine Brown (TePastte), age 96, of Holland, passed away December 13, 2019.

Jerri graduated from South High in GR with the class of 1941. She retired from Rowe AMI in 1985. Jerri was a child prodigy on the violin, artist, musician and also won the nationally renowned Major Bowes Amateur Hour contest in 1936. She played the violin with the Grand Rapids symphony for over 30 years. Jerri was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She inspired many generations of musicians.

She is survived by her children, Richard Brown of Grand Rapids; daughters, Lynn Marie (Bill) Halbert and Christine Shaffer of Holland; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Jerri was preceded in death by all of her siblings and in-laws; grandson, Rick Halbert and two daughters in-law.

A funeral ceremony will be held Tuesday January 14, at 11:00 am, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd St., Holland, with a luncheon to follow. Father Charlie Brown presiding.
