Life Story / Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Georgia Wilma Luebke on April 24, 2016 at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerhard, sister, Myra, and daughter, Louise. She is survived by son, Stephen, his wife, Linda, and their two children, Gabrielle (Greg) and Adam (Sarah); son, Ted; daughter, Miriam, and her husband, Ernie; and son-in-law Kirk, and his (and Louiseā€™s) children Rachel (Dan), Megan (Mark), and Jonathan (Casey). She had nine great-grandchildren. Besides 7 years in Ohio, and 10 years in Alpena, Michigan, Georgia was a longtime resident of Holland, Michigan, though she lived the last year and a half in St. Paul, MN near her daughter. She was baptized, confirmed, and married in Zion Lutheran Church, Holland. She met her husband, Rev. Gerhard Luebke, at Zion, where he was pastor. They were married in 1944. After Gerhard died in 1968, when they were living in Alpena, Michigan, Georgia returned to Holland in 1970, where she lived until 2014. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday (April 30) at Zion Lutheran Church, 77 West 32nd Street, with the Rev. Ryan Winningham officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Bus Fund. Arrangements are by the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel.
