George F. Stejskal, 86, of Holland, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Medilodge in Holland.

George was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He retired from the Holland City Fire Department after 28 years of service. George enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He lived a life of humbleness, deep devotion to his faith, and an unconditional love for all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois in 1999.

He is survived by his children: Val and Roger Bauer of Mason MI, Judy and Bill Golemba of Grand Rapids, Sue Stejskal and Andy Rosenbaum of Vicksburg, MI, Mike and Jana Stejskal of Holland, Marilyn and George Russell of Ft. Wayne, IN Jackie and Mike McDonald of Bancroft, MI; grandchildren: Steve and Mandy, Nick, Julia Stejskal, Joe Rosenbaum, Matt, Mandy and David McDonald and Mia Russell; nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 12:00 pm, Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 171 West 13th Street in Holland. Father Charlie Brown will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Dykstra Funeral Home – Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street in Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland or the International Association of Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation.
