Geneva J. Van Dyke, 92. The Lord called Geneva home on June 21, 2017. She was the daughter of Jim and Delia Lankheet of Holland, where she lived all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. VanDyke; brother, Jay Lankheet; stepbrother-in-law, Bill Sikkel; granddaughter, Sheri Phelps. She is survived by 3 sons, Robert (Janice) VanDyke, Larry (Sandy) VanDyke, and Earl (Connie) VanDyke, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. VanDyke is also survived by sisters-in law, Margaret Abma, Bette VanDyke and brother-in-law, Paul Sikkel. Geneva attended Holland Public Schools and Holland Christian High, graduating in 1943. Throughout her life she was employed as a secretary at the Michigan Secretary of State office, Holland License Bureau, Hart and Cooley, Beechwood Church, and as a nurse’s aide at 2 local home health care companies. Geneva was a member of Beechwood Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, the church’s coordinator for monthly services at the Holland Rescue Mission, and as a member of the missions committee. Visitation will be at Beechwood Church, 895 Ottawa Beach Road, from 9-10:45am. The funeral service will be held at Beechwood Church at 11:00a.m. with Rev. James Lankheet officiating. A lunch will follow at the church. Burial will take place at Pilgrim Home Cemetery on 16th St. Memorial contributions can be made to Beechwood Church missions.
