Life Story / Obituary


Gene V. Immink, age 84, went to rest eternally in the presence of his Savior on July 31, 2015.

Born on October 28, 1931 to the late Gerald and Theodora (Top) Immink. Gene served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War conflict. A member of Haven Reformed Church, Gene was a long time Hamilton resident before moving to Zeeland in 1998. Prior to retirement Gene was employed by ANR Pipeline, Hamilton Community Schools and DeNooyer Chevrolet.

Gene was preceded in death by Mary (July 2, 2015) his wife of 60 years, and sister-in-law Barbara VanEden. Gene leaves a lasting legacy as a loving husband to Mary, a wonderful father to Gary (Pat) Immink and Julie Baker; the best grand “pa” to Greg(Ivanka) Immink, Katie(Joshua) Lamer, Eric Immink, Jared Baker and Joey Baker; and great grandpa to Easton Lamer and Austin Immink. Surviving are brothers Lloyd (Lois) Immink, Earle (Marcia) Immink; brother-in-law Donald (Trudy) VanEden and James VanEden.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 4 at Haven Reformed Church in Hamilton with a visitation 5 – 8 pm on Monday, August 3 at the church.
