Everett Greiner

Everett Charles Greiner, age 94, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, in Holland.

Everett was born on March 6, 1922 in Hart, Mich. to William and Magdalene (Shaner) Greiner. He graduated from Hart High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp and served in WWII in Germany and Japan. Following the war, he received his bachelor’s degree in education from Western Michigan University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan and taught at Ludington High School in Ludington, MI.

Everett was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Barbara (Lathrop), 4 sisters and 4 brothers, and an infant grandson.

He is survived by children Ron Greiner and wife Ellen (Pogue) of Ann Arbor; Don Greiner and wife Mary Beth (Caplon) of Big Rapids; Louise Greiner of Holland; Lary Greiner and wife Eileen (Berasi) of Hastings on Hudson, NY; Anne Johnson and husband Steve of Midland; David Greiner and wife Vanessa (Discoe) of Traverse City; and Michelle Ellis and husband David of Holland; 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Weare, Mich.
