Ethel J. Bruursema

Ethel J. Bruursema, age 96, of Holland, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Ethel was born in Borculo, Michigan on November 18, 1927 to James & Anne Padmos. She attended Zeeland Schools. Ethel loved animals large and small. Her love of animals came from being raised and working on a dairy farm. Ethel was blessed to have been a homemaker for the majority of her life and raised six wonderful children. Her hobbies included embroidering and bird watching. She was loved by everyone that knew her and she will truly be missed.

Ethel is survived by her loving children, Larry (Jackie) Bruursema, Barbara (David) TenCate, Sandra (Joe) Bush, Dorothy Bruursema, Brenda (Burt) Myers, Dave Bruursema; 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bruursema was preceded in death by her parents, James & Anne Padmos; sister, Lois Van Voorst; daughter in-law, Jodi Bruursema.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd, Holland, MI 49423.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, March 15, at 1:00pm, in the chapel at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 994 Paw Paw Drive, Holland, MI. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
