Esmeralda was born on March 8, 1944, in Edcouch, Texas to Santiago & Ramona Hernandez. Her family moved to Michigan in 1970. She married the love of her life, Mr. Inocensio Mireles Jr. on May 26, 1963, who she met in seventh grade and together they enjoyed 58 wonderful years of marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Mireles vacationed in Texas frequently to visit family, which was especially important to both of them. Esmeralda was very active in her grandchildren's lives. They will always remember her love and support. She also raised two of her grandchildren, (Wicho and Lydia). For 35 years, she was employed by Sligh Furniture where she worked alongside her husband. Esmeralda loved red and Cardinal birds and when you visited her home, you were greeted by her many Cardinal bird figurines. She always loved to cook for her family, especially when the grandkids were over and she had a fondness for sewing dresses for special occasions.

Esmeralda is survived by her daughters, Ruby Anaya, Ramona Mireles, Raquel Mireles, Rima (Tommy) Cantu; sons, Raul (Rhonda) Mirelez, Rene (Gretchen) Mireles; 19 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Rodriguez, Josefita Vallejo, María Magdalena Castro, María de Jesús Ramírez, María Guadalupe Cantú and Delfina Hernández.

She was preceded in death by her husband Inocencio Mireles Jr. and brothers, Miguel Hernández, Domingo Hernández & José Santiago Hernández.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday December 30, at Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland.
