Eric Heller passed away on March 9, 2024 at the age of 74.

He was born on October 18, 1949 in Marion, IN. to Ardith and Virginia Heller. He graduated from DePauw University and got his MBA from Bellarmine University. He served for six years as a Sea Bee. Eric came to Holland in 1979 to work at Herman Miller where he had many roles throughout his 25-year career.

Eric also previously served as President of the Board of Directors for the Harbor Humane Society and was instrumental in constructing its new building in 1988.

He attended the First Presbyterian Church where he had served as an Elder. Eric's many interest, included genealogy, playing the clarinet, puzzles, fishing with his son, planning family trips, and his pets.

Meeting him in heaven are his parents and brother-in-law, Dennis Cooney.

He will be lovingly, missed by his wife of 51 years Megan (Trovillion) Heller; his son, Grant (Sylvia Malcore) Heller; beloved grandchildren, Selena and Sylvan; siblings, Lisa (Mike) Sabones, Mark (Lisa) Heller, Susan (Dave) Keller and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to honor Eric’s faith in life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23 at the first Presbyterian Church in Holland. Visiting hours will be 4 to 7 PM Friday at Dykstra Funeral Home, 188 W 32nd St. Holland. Memorial contributions may be made to the harbor Humane Society.
