Elsie V. Haspas

Elsie V. Haspas, age 94, of Holland, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023.

Elsie was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 3, 1928. The Haspas family moved to Holland in 1964 from Saugatuck, Michigan. Mrs. Haspas was a faithful member of the Greek Orthodox Church and lived a Christ centered life, always leading by example. Mrs. Haspas was happily married for over 70 years to Mr. James Haspas. She had an easy smile coupled with a great sense of humor. Spending time with her was always a pleasure. Elsie loved boating and over the years made many friends at Eldean Shipyard. She was also known for her solid work ethic. She mowed her own lawn until the age of 91. Elsie fell in love with the Holland community and served the public as an election official for many years. She was loved by everyone that knew her and she will truly be missed.

Mrs. Haspas is survived by her loving husband, James; sons, James G. Haspas, Gregory Haspas; grandchildren, Jeffrey Allen, Steven James and David Joseph; many great-grandchildren.

A public graveside ceremony and interment in Graafschap Cemetery will be held on Friday, March 24, at 10:30am.

Funeral arrangements are under the auspices of the Mulder Chapel.
