Donna Lampen

Donna Joyce Lampen, age 88, went to see her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 26, at Holland Hospital.

Donna was born in Holland on October 10, 1936, to Preston and Leonna (Posma) Brunsell, and grew up with her two sisters, Patricia and Faye who preceded her in death.

Donna graduated from Holland High in 1954, she participated in Dutch Dancing and continued on to be one of the oldest Alumni Dancers, dancing until the 1990s. Donna married Donald Lampen on July 10, 1958, and moved to Hamilton where they were members of Hamilton Reformed Church and where she was blessed with and raised five children.

Donna’s oldest child: Dawn (Roger) Poel, their children: Sanders, Sawyer, and Sophia; son: David (Tracie) Lampen, their children: Jonny (Casey) their son, (Donna’s great grandson): Henry Lampen, Christine (Mitch) Boatman; son: Daniel (Rhonda) Lampen, their children: Alec and Daniella; son: Doug Lampen (Mayra); son: Dean (Meagan) Lampen, their children: Parker and Brooks.

Donna enjoyed holiday celebrations, especially in the summertime gathered around the pool surrounded by family, good food, and laughter. Donna with her husband Donald enjoyed time with her lifelong friends celebrating simple pleasures and adventures including group trips, sharing meals, going out on the town, and late nights playing cards. Donna will be greatly missed by those who had her in their lives.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Dykstra Funeral Homes – Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street in Holland (Lite lunch to follow). Reverend Kevin Hart will be officiating. The burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 10:45 am prior to the service at Mulder chapel. The family requests that donations be made to Kids Hope (which Donna was actively involved in) and Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
