David D. Rogers, age 84, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Holland Hospital following complications of surgery for his heart. David was born in his childhood home to Alexander and Dorothy Rogers on November 16, 1936. He graduated from Holland High School in 1954. While in high school, he excelled in football and track. After graduation his father signed permission for David to go into the Army at age 17. He was in the army for 3 years mostly serving at 7th Army with headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. Immediately after returning home from the army, he attended Western Michigan University. In 1961 he graduated from WMU with a BBA degree. While a student at WMU he married his high school sweetheart, Carol Cook. They were married for 62 years.

After graduation he worked for Texaco Corp, starting as a salesman and progressed to a district manager. He then moved on to work for Terminal Supply as a salesman and again progressed to a district manager position and developed many friendships throughout his tenure. He was a member of Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church. In 2001 David retired from Terminal Supply and he and Carol started spending winters in Venice, Florida where they enjoyed the weather, golf, and the many friendships they developed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Dorothy Rogers, brothers, Paul, Jerome and Donald Rogers.

Dave will be remembered for the numerous stories he told and how he always made people laugh. He enjoyed boating, fishing and golf with family and hunting with his sons and grandsons. He especially enjoyed watching any football team that was playing at any time.
