Darlene Schaap

Darlene Schaap, age 55, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016.

Darlene and Randy met while touring in a gospel music group. Since then, they have limited their music to street performing in downtown Holland and at Harvest Bible Chapel in West Olive where they attend. Most recently, they opened a gourmet popcorn and candy store at 224 S. River Ave in Holland called Poppin Huis.

Poppin Huis was a dream born from of a vacation that Randy and Darlene took in 2015 when they visited a small popcorn store in Illinois.

Darlene and Randy were married in Muskegon and just recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. Darlene is survived by her husband Randy, mother Mary Lou Hullinger, sister Deb and her family and her sister Diane and her family. Darlene was the backbone of Poppin Huis, but more important, she was the soul mate and best friend to her husband Randy. Darlene was loved by anyone who met her and she will be greatly missed.

Memorial services, for Darlene, will be 7 pm, Friday (November 11) at the Gateway Center, 661 East 24th Street. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday (November 11) prior to the service at the Gateway Center.
