Daniel Rastall

Daniel E. Rastall, age 69, of Saugatuck died Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Holland Hospital.

Dan was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where he was involved with funeral lunches and made the best sandwiches. He was on the city of Saugatuck sparkle committee and was responsible to hang all the Christmas lights. Dan was employed at LTV Steel in northwest Indiana for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grand and great grandkids because he loved them so very much. Dan enjoyed relaxing on his fortress of solitude (boat). He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Dolores Rastall, a brother Thom Rastall and a great granddaughter Celeste.

He is survived by Nadene, his wife of 46 years and children: Dan and Lenore Rastall of Fennville and Tony and Karan Rastall of Bloomington, IN; grandchildren: Cynthia Sanchez, T.J. and Amber Sanchez, Christina and Mike Jones, Tyger Rastall, Jaguar Rastall, Jonathan Carrithers and Jack Rastall; great grandchildren: Leo, Nate, Sabastian, Kaylee and Dean; brother: David and Phyllis Rastall of Sheridan, IL; sisters and brother-in-law: Kris Rastall of Saugatuck, Arlene Mallek of Crown Point, IN and William Haney of Pembroke, FL; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 100 Peter Drive in Douglas. Father Stanley Witek will be officiating. Burial will be in Riverside-Saugatuck Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Friday, February 19, 2016 at Dykstra Funeral Home – Saugatuck Chapel, 520 Lake Street in Saugatuck.
