Constance Bawinkel

Constance Bawinkel, age 95, of Holland, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Connie let her light of Jesus shine through her, her whole life. She was always kind and compassionate. She loved to travel with her family, care for children and sing. She graduated from Hope College in 1945 and taught english. Connie was very active in her churches as well as helping raise her grandchildren. Born to Rev. Walter Scholten and Frances Scholten. Connie is preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Walter Scholten, and two sisters, Dorothy Cochran and Marion Kopen, as well as, her beloved grandson, Jason. Connie is survived by her husband, La Verne "Verne" Bawinkel; son, Gordon Bawinkel; five grandchildren, Brian Bawinkel, Kristi Johnson, Katie Harmsen, Sean Berens and Alison Berens; brother, Rev. S. Thom Scholten; sister, Frances Rinkus; 9 great grandchildren. We love connie with all of our hearts.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland. Pastor Jason Klepal will be officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.
