Charlotte Unger, age 96 went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Holland Michigan.

Charlotte was born in Drenthe, Michigan on November 20, 1920. She graduated from Holland Christian High school. She furthered her education by graduating from Community Hospital School of Nursing in Battle Creek, Michigan as a Registered Nurse in 1946.

She was employed at Holland Hospital for 33 years, retiring in 1980. Her duties at Holland Hospital were many, from delivering babies, working the Emergency Room, assisting in surgery, to becoming the Assistant Director of Nursing.

Charlotte was a very caring and spirited person, and she had a great sense of humor. She had so very many friends with whom she kept in touch throughout the years from grade school until well after her retirement.

After retirement she enjoyed golfing, taking trips up north and staying at Sandy Pines.

Her husband of 71 years, Robert Unger, passed away on November 21, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her mother Grace Vredeveld, her father and stepmother Henry and Jennie Vredeveld and her three brothers Harvey, Bernard and Jim Vredeveld.

She will be forever remembered by her children, Gayle and Jerry Cooper, Thomas and Julia Unger and her grandson John Unger, all of Lake Havasu City, AZ., her very special niece Cheryl Sprick, and nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service for both Charlotte and Robert in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

If you wish, please make a donation to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd., Holland, MI 49423. Her family thanks Hospice for the wonderful care given Charlotte for the two days they had her under their wings.
