Catherine Ann Robinson (Graham) passed to Heaven on November 15, 2022, in Holland, Michigan. One of God’s lights in this world has gone out now, but she created so many little lights in the lives she blessed that will continue to shine with her light.

She was born 70 years ago in Ontonagen, Michigan and lived her middle and high school years in Marquette, Mi. She loved Michigan, especially West Michigan and the upper peninsula. Cathy’s undergraduate degree was from Northern Michigan University and she held a graduate degree in journalism from the University of Michigan. After graduate school, she worked as a journalist for a short time before devoting her love and energy to raising four sons.

Cathy married Greg Robinson over 43 years ago and they created many beautiful memories together, the most valued being around their sons and partners, their family members, and their friends. Cathy battled numerous health issues and Greg always said that it was an honor to be by her side during those difficult times. The two of them were inseparable and an inspiration to us all.

Cathy adored her sons and they were blessed to have received the fullness of her grit and unconditional love, a combination that even on hard days gave her the strength to never miss a game, stay up for hours of conversation, be there to celebrate graduations and the birth of her grandchildren, and share in her sons’ passion for social issues. She was always available to her sons, loved them fiercely, and raised them to love and care for others. Her sons feel that what is good in them came from Cathy and Greg.

What a sweet, beautiful person. She always said that she wanted everyone to know that she tried, and try she did every single day.Everyone who knew Cathy knew love. She led her relationships with love, and she always assumed the best of people. She loved like Jesus would want us to love.

We cannot honor her in words, but will honor her in how we live and love. She changed the people she met for the better and in so doing our world is a kinder, gentler place.

She is survived by her loving husband Greg, sons Matt, Ben, Joe and Mike, Ben’s wife Courteny, a lovely granddaughter and precious grandson, Mother Carol Jenkins, her husband Gordy Jenkins, twin brother Mike Graham, sister Cindi and husband Darrell Landon, nephew Troy Graham, his wife Lisa and daughter Althea, Aunt Harriet Ann and Uncle Burnell Nelson, and many close friends she cherished.

A funeral Mass will be held at one of her favorite places St. Francis de Sales Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, followed by an open house/reception in the church gathering space. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation (scleroderma.org).

Cathy’s family expresses deep appreciation to the nurses, doctors, medical assistants and technicians at Holland Hospital for the compassionate, excellent care they provided to Cathy during her visits.
