Calvin Gene Van Noord, 66, of Holland, surrounded by his family, passed peacefully into the hands of his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 2, 2017, in Grand Rapids, after battling cancer for six months.

Cal was born March 7, 1951, in Grand Rapids to Arlene and Gerald Van Noord. He was the proud and loving father of his three grown children who loved him very much. He attended Covenant Life Church in Grand Haven, where he had many friends. Cal had a passion for helping others, real estate, fishing, hunting and golfing. He loved his family, friends and his Lord, Jesus Christ, deeply.

His mother Arlene Van Noord preceded Cal in death. He is survived by his father, Gerald Van Noord of Grand Rapids; three children, Tawn Miller, his step-daughter of Salt Lake City, Utah, Brian Van Noord of Holland, and Tim Van Noord of Grand Rapids, who are his children with his former wife Diane Olsen of Grand Haven; two grandchildren, Hannah Post and Declan McCann; sisters, Char (Dave) Troost, Sandy (Lewis) DeKryger, Sheri (Gregg) Bolt. Memorial services will be 11 am, Friday (October 6) at Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 32nd Street. Cal’s cousin, Reverend John Witvliet, will officiate. Visitation is 6-8 pm, Thursday, at the chapel. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Eisenhower Center in Ann Arbor, MI, or Bethany Christian Services in Holland.
