Life Story / Obituary
Arlene Lois Frego, age 91, went into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 18, 2018, at The Inn at Freedom Village. She was born in Grand Rapids and then moved to Dubuque, Iowa until the age of 16. She then moved with her family to Holland where she completed her high school years, graduating from Holland High School with honors. At the age of 22 she married the love of her life, Donald Frego, who preceded her in death in 2013. They were married for 63 years. Arlene worked for the Crampton Mfg. as a secretary and later 27 years for Herrick Public Library in the children's department.
She is survived by her sons, Ron (Judy) Frego of Holland and Mark (Patty) Frego of Brighton; grandchildren, Sarah (Brian) Beckham, Jon (Jennifer) Frego, Haley Frego, Jeena Frego, Alex Frego, Christopher (Kylee) Frego, Matthew Frego; great grandchildren, Samuel and Carter Beckham, Mya and Owen Frego, Emerson and Logan Frego; sister, Delores Jacobusse; sisters in law, Pat (Jack) Shinabarger, Beverly (Sonny) Essenburg; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3:00p.m., Thursday, June 21, at the Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street, Holland, with Pastor Kama Jongerius officiating. A reception will follow the funeral ceremony. Visitation will be held 1:30p.m. to 2:45p.m. prior to the service at the Mulder Chapel.
