Alice Mae Den Besten, age 106, of Holland passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Appledorn Assisted Living South.
Alice was a member of Graafschap CRC for many years. She was born in Corsica, South Dakota in 1915 and moved to Holland, MI in 1966. She was a teacher in South Dakota and the Hamilton Public Schools. Alice loved to play scramble at Evergreen Commons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Den Besten, son Glenn Den Besten and grandson Grant Den Besten.
She is survived by her daughters: Frances Hamstra of Grand Rapids, MI and Beth Burton of Grand Rapids, MI; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held at Graafschap cemetery in Holland.
A celebration of Alice’s life, with family and friends, will be set for a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to World Renew, 1700 28th Street, SE, Grand Rapids, MI 494508. Arrangements are by Dykstra Funeral Homes-Mulder Chapel.
