Alberto Rendon Serrano Sr., 91, of Holland, Michigan, passed on to be with his Heavenly Father on May 19, 2024, surrounded by his wife, Anita Serrano, and his loved ones.

He was born on February 12, 1933 in Dripping Springs, Texas to parents Alberto Serrano and Theodora Rendon Serrano.

He went on to marry Lydia “Lila” Munoz in 1951. After having three sons, they traveled from their home in Austin, Texas to visit family in Holland, Michigan and decided to make Holland their permanent home. They were blessed with four more children.

Beto, as he liked to be called, started his first job at Smith and Douglas. Six years later he went on to work production at Western Foundry and also was a supervisor at Holland Wire Products until his retirement.

After 47 years of marriage, Alberto lost his loving wife, Lila, to cancer.

He fell in love again and married to Anita “Ana” Vasquez and gained another son, Joe V. Gonzales Jr. Throughout their 24 wonderful years together, they remained close to all of their family. Half of each year, living in Holland, was cherished with his children and grandchildren. While the other half they lived in Austin, valuing the time spent with his siblings and their families.

Alberto was a faithful member of Harvest Time Fellowship for the life of the church. He later became a member of Cornerstone Tabernacle in Holland, Michigan and Christian Life Austin in Austin, Texas.

He loved playing golf, baseball, bowling, hunting, camping, watching sports on TV, celebrating special moments with family, Sunday cookouts, family visits, and most recently, passing the time riding his lawnmower.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alberto Serrano; mother, Theodora Rendon Vasquez; late wife, Lydia Serrano; grandsons, Adam J. Castorena, Michael P. Serrano; granddaughter, Elisa R. Castorena, along with many other family members.
