Life Story / Obituary

It is with very sad hearts that we announce the passing of my beautiful and loving husband of 36 yrs, Alan Murray Riemersma. He was 72 when he passed in the early morning of May 9 at Holland Hospital.

Alan was born in Glendale California on July 29, 1951 to Dorothy and Willard Riemersma. He worked for many years at Holland Wire of Holland and then went on to drive semi for quite a few yrs for various companies. He enjoyed playing guitar in his spare time for many years and then recently had taken up painting. He was also an avid animal lover. His sense of humor was one of a kind and he loved to make people laugh. He was also a very generous and kind soul, who was always willing to help others. His laid back attitude was what most of us would envy. He will be missed beyond words by many who knew him. He was my best friend and soulmate. The love of my life.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Marie Riemersma, brother Michael Riemersma of Payson, AZ and his sister Diana Glupker of Holland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Dorothy (Lennox) Riemersma of Holland, and his brother Steven Riemersma of Hesperia, MI. He will also be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews. We will always remember and cherish the memories we had together forever.

Cremation sevices are being handled by Dykstra Funeral Home - Mulder Chapel. No services are scheduled. Any memorial donations may be made to Harbor Human Society, 14345 Bagley Street, West Olive, MI 49460
